During this Tuesday’s Monster Night on Dancing with the Stars, Jason Mraz dressed up as a zombie mummy for his Contemporary routine with partner Daniella Karagach. Although they were the first couple to dance, Mraz stayed in character all night.
Jason Mraz Stays in Character on Dancing with the Stars
Mraz and Karagach earned a combined score of 36 out of 40 for their routine to “Zombie” by the Cranberries. Since they were the first dance of the night, the pair got to watch the rest of their competitors take the dance floor.
Throughout the episode, Mraz appeared in the background of several shots. Fans got a kick out of the fact that he stayed in spooky character, staring blankly into the camera while other contestants were talking.
He and Karagach also poked fun at his zombie look on social media. They spoofed a viral video of a kid dressed as a zombie who said he liked turtles. Mraz even got on his knees to make himself look shorter for the bit.
Later in the night, Mraz and Karagach had three extra points added to their score after the Dance Marathon. At the end of the episode, they were announced as safe.

Mraz has been one of the top contestants from week to week on Season 32 of DWTS. However, he has yet to earn a score of 10 from any of the judges. The only celebrities to earn this score so far have been Charity Lawson, Xochitl Gomez, and Ariana Madix.
This week, Gomez and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy earned a 10 from guest judge Niecy Nash for their Contemporary routine to “Game of Survival” by Ruelle. Madix and her partner Pasha Pashkov earned a 10 from Bruno Tonioli for their Argentine Tango to “Bady Guy” by Billie Eilish.
