Lizzo’s first unscripted project will premiere this March. The singer has given fans a first look at her new series Watch Out For The Big Grrrls. The show will put 10 hopeful women against each other in a competition to see who has what it takes to join her upcoming world tour.
The unscripted project is the first under Lizzo’s first-look deal with Amazon Prime Video. The eight episode series will premiere March 25. On the show, the singer is on the hunt for contestants to join what she calls the Big Grrrls. In the first look viewers can see that the stakes are high and the competition is fierce.
Legendary choreographers Tanisha Scott and O.G. Big Grrrls Chawnta’ Marie Van, Shirlene Quigley, and Grace Holden will help Lizzo decide who stays and who goes. There will also be several special guests to help choose the Big Grrrls including singer SZA.
Described as a powerful show, the trailer depicts Lizzo encouraging the women as they break new ground on what it means to be beautiful in today’s society. Watch Out For The Big Grrrls does not come without its share of drama. We see contestants all determined to be number one, and they don’t care who they take down along the way. Viewers can expect to watch all 10 girls living together as they compete in challenges each episode. The good news is that Lizzo is looking for multiple dancers to join her on tour.
Lizzo the Superstar
“I BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE TURN IT UP—This is the greatest moment of my career yet. Y’all know how hard it’s been finding dancers that look like me. But if I gotta get a TV show to get the world to see the value in us big grrrls, IMMA DO IT. Ready to laugh, cry, twerk, repeat?!” Lizzo posted on her Instagram.
One of Lizzo’s first major shows is this Spring’s New Orleans Jazz Fest. The singer will perform throughout the week. The “Juice” singer has played over 200 concerts to date. She also has big plans for new music in the future. Lizzo teased fans earlier this year on TikTok with her upcoming single “You’re Special.”
Since breaking into the industry, the Drag Race guest judge has made it her mission to empower those who feel like outcasts. Lizzo’s Watch Out For The Big Grrrls will show the singer in her element, empowering women who are looking for a chance.
