“Suits” hasn’t been on the air in four years, but the fandom remains stronger than ever. Cast members Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht reunited at the 81st annual Golden Globes on Sunday night’s red carpet; they were later joined onstage to present together with costars Gina Torres and Sarah Rafferty.
Speaking with ET at the Golden Globes Pre-Show presented by Variety, Adams and Macht commented on the massive success the show recently experienced on Netflix. The duo starred as Mike Ross and Harvey Specter on the beloved legal drama.
“It’s an amazing thing,” Macht said. “We had some great success when the show was on. All over the world, there were people downloading it, pirating, downloading it. At a certain point, Netflix came in and said, ‘Why don’t we put this out there.’ And it’s just gotten incredible eyes. And we’re very grateful for it.”

The duo also spoke to the recent announcement that a “Suits” spinoff set in Los Angeles is in the works.
“I think it’s all in early stages,” Adams said. “It’s a show in the ‘Suits’ universe, like a ‘Suits L.A.’ Anyway, our fearless showrunner Aaron [Korsh is] working on that. If I got the phone call, I’d be ready to suit up again. I loved the show, I loved the character and I loved working with all these people.”
At the mention of Meghan Markle potentially returning to the spinoff, Adams played along with the possibility: “Sure, Mike and Rachel in Seattle, they gotta come down to L.A. and fix some stuff.”
The legal drama produced by UCP aired on USA Network for nine seasons from 2011 to 2019. Though successful in its original run, “Suits” re-entered the cultural conversation this year as it began streaming on Netflix. It topped their charts for multiple weeks and broke the record for the most-ever No. 1 appearances on Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 chart.
The cast also included Rick Hoffman, Meghan Markle, Amanda Schull, Dulé Hill and Katherine Heigl. In November, Markle opened up exclusively to Variety about the show’s recent popularity, as it surpassed 45 billion minutes streamed on Netflix and Peacock combined.
“Isn’t that wild?” she said during our annual Power of Women event. “It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit. But it’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting.”
